Is it possible upgrade Windows Server 2008 for 2008 R2????

Yes or No?? My first thought was NO. But after think about and search on Microsoft web sites we can sure 100% "yes, we can".

But pay attention. For this you will need following some steps to check if your Windows Server 2008 will support R2. 1. Hardware machine should be x64. As you already know the Windows Server 2008 R2 was deployment for x64 platforms and don't support x32 bits. Also remember you cannot upgrade a Windows with language EN to Portuguese or any others language.

a. Cross-architecture in-place upgrades (for example, x86 to x64) are not supported.

b. Cross-language in-place upgrades (for example, en-us to de-de) are not supported.

2. The editions should be matches:

3. Now with the DVD with Windows Server 2008 R2 you will be able to Upgrade your Windows Server 2008. This procedure takes a long time because will make backup and then restore it.
